胡写乱划

    n久没写了,今天想写点东西.不知道写什么,就瞎胡写好了.
    毕业快1年了,好像对学生时代也没什么感觉.可能我没什么恋旧的习惯.很多人说还是读书好,我觉的对我来说读到22么可以了,在下去精神上受不了.现在工作呢我挺有激情,不过不知道能持续多久,尽量把.虽然跟专业不是口对口,但起码我还比较感兴趣,所以心情不错.
    老爸老妈该做的都做了,我心里没有任何埋怨.路呢是我自己选的,以后怎么样我自己会面对,没什么可说的,没什么可惦记.人要靠自己,我会靠我自己,我不知道贫我能干什么大事,不过我就想看看自己有什么能耐.
    我觉得我呢是个普通人,偶尔想着要有翻作为什么的,当然地球人都在想.但目前脚踏实地应该是最重要的,做好份内的事情,享受生活也是种成就,虽然可能微不足道.
        也许只是平凡的人生,或许是别的什么的,谁知道呢.不过这样才有意思,什么都可以,由你自己去创造.

     在玩过sfc上的chrono trigger之后,我就对这部游戏作品十分着迷:奇幻美妙而又扑朔迷离的故事情节,赏心悦目的画面与人物设计,动人心弦的配乐给人以身临其境的感受。这一批集合了SQUARE与ENIX社内的超级精英制作班底:坂口博信、崛井雄二、鸟山明、光田康典、植松伸夫等算是让这款表现堪称完美的rpg名副其实,个人认为比起当年的ff系列甚至有过之而无不及。

    第2部chrono cross虽然早在ps上发布了,但最近才下到,不过也算挺欣慰的。玩了流程的一多半了,故事情节不如1,有点牵强俯会。其他画面,动画,模式都进步多了,但1里的组合技没了,这有点让人失望了。音乐方面我感觉跟背景故事融合的较1来说就一般,但音乐本身还是很优秀,不少旋律还是延续了1中的主题。这里找了个原声http下载(我懒得下),有兴趣就听一下吧。

Biography 
Though the Hope Blister is technically a continuation of 4AD founder Ivo Watts-Russell's project This Mortal Coil, its small, steady lineup of musicians and focus on covers sets it apart from his previous project. ...smile's ok, the Hope Blister's 1998 debut, takes this seemingly restrictive concept and integrates it into the larger 4AD vision, thanks to the return of former This Mortal Coil vocalist Louise Rutkowski and the album's versions of labelmates' songs. Heidi Berry's "Only Human" and "Dagger" by Neil Halstead (of Slowdive and the label's own Mojave 3) receive new readings, while "Is Jesus Your Pal," by Iceland's Slow Blow, was also covered by the label's Gus Gus. "Sweet Unknown," written by the similarly ethereal Cranes, is also remade on ...smile's ok. The album's sparse instrumentation, which includes Laurence O'Keefe's subtle bass and Audrey Riley's cello playing and string arrangements, conveys great emotion with little clutter. For Watts-Russell and crew, as well as 4AD, the Hope Blister is a natural progression, and a welcome one.

Diabolus in Musica - Accardo interpreta Paganini(06/01/17)

 

我个人对古典感觉一般,有气氛时候听一下还可以

记得以前看个视频steve vai跟个小孩子闹吉他,里面小孩用手指弹的一段精彩的solo

其实是steve vai的歌,而如这样的出自摇滚吉他大师的很多古典段子所谓的新古典无非是起源传统的

古典乐章。推荐其中的第三首,感觉比听电琴爽多了,纯正的古典提琴1/16拍演奏。

这张CD里面就是选录了10余首帕格尼尼的节录曲,举凡有名的作品都在其中。当年的阿卡多演奏灵活生猛,很有点火气,与近年的纯和醇厚大不相同。阿卡多手上的名琴所发出优美的声音更是不让它的诠释专美于前,它的琴音华丽雄壮光辉,甜美的音质与音色更令人难以忘怀。这是DG皇牌录音师Gunter Hermanns亲自所录的杰作之一。碟中独奏部分音色通透,琴声细节分明、空气感强,片中小提琴和打击乐的高频泛音极为丰富,足以试出音响系统中的任何瑕疵。如果小提琴在空间中所产生的堂音不自然,摩擦质感不能保持,则说明摩擦细节质感有所损失。如果高把位的声音太薄太尖,则表示音响的中频以下不够丰润。

  意大利小提琴演奏家。1941年9月26日出生于都灵。很小时就对小提琴产生了浓厚的兴趣,6岁开始正式学习小提琴,15岁从那波利的圣·彼得音乐学院毕业,先后师从唐布罗卓和法国小提琴家伊伏内·阿斯特柳克。1955年在意大利韦尔切利(Vercelli)国际小提琴大赛中获奖,1956年又在日内瓦国际小提琴大赛中获奖。1958年获第四届帕格尼尼国际小提琴比赛一等奖。1972-1977年曾担任意大利音乐家合奏团的独奏家。此后在欧美及亚洲同一流的乐团和指挥家合作演出,平均每年举办100余场音乐会。每年12月,他都出现在与女钢琴家阿格里希和长笛演奏家加塞罗尼共同主持的那波利室内音乐节上。此外还担任着希耶纳音乐学院高级提琴班的课程。
  阿卡多以演奏帕格尼尼的小提琴曲而知名。他对音色与音质的处理,体现了纯正的意大利风格,沉稳、雍容大度,富于自然醇美的音乐性。1974-1975年曾与迪图瓦指挥的伦敦爱乐乐团合作,录制了帕格尼尼小提琴协奏曲全集。由于对帕格尼尼音乐的特殊贡献,他获以了每年一度的使用帕格尼尼用过的瓜尔内里小提琴加农炮演奏的殊荣。评论家对他演奏帕格尼尼之外的作品不抱太多期望,但他演奏的其他音乐家的作品,特别是在协奏曲演奏方面,仍有过人之处。他演奏的维瓦尔迪的《四季》,也一直是很受重视的录音版本。
  阿卡多使用的是一把1717年制作的斯特拉迪瓦里琴。

If you love both Jazz and Blues, then this CD is a near-perfect combination. The songs are blues, the scales are blues, but the singing & overall feel leans more towards Jazz. This makes it more upbeat than a typical Blues CD. Although Tony shows he's still a star crooner with a voice that defies his age, his guests are really what makes this CD worth buying. When my wife first heard his duet with Diana Krall, ''Alright, Okay, You Win,'' she was instantly hooked (the title alone peaked her interest). My entire family sings along in the car with B.B. King & Tony on ''Let the Good Times Roll.'' Stevie Wonder and his harmonica really shine in ''Everyday I have the Blues.'' My favorite track is when Tony and Billy Joel team up for ''New York State of Mind.'' Like his version in the America: Tribute to Heroes CD, the song enters a whole new level when it's played with a jazz/blues interpretation; plus Billy's voice is once again outstanding. The ladies that accompany Tony, Diana Krall, K.D. Lang, and Natalie Cole, really showcase their smooth-as-silk voices. Having Ray Charles join Tony on Evenin' clinched the deal for me. The CD is high on the request list when my family joins me in the car. Overall, it has great energy, vocals, and musicians which makes it a must-have for those who appreciate music in these two genres.

跟Massive Attack,Portishead等等大牌相比,Tycho似乎並不那麽耀眼。不過這支在1999年由Scott Hansen組建的美國樂隊,在音樂上的表現卻毫不遜色,他們的旋律相對溫暖舒緩,如同陽光,不會令人陷於陰鬱絕望的境地。5年多來,Tycho的曲風從Trip hop慢慢轉向Ambient,並且隱約有了Downtempo的味道。但是始終保持著優雅夢幻的氣質。
  
The Science of Patterns是Tycho發行於2002年的一張EP,仍是一貫的溫情和優美。打從唱片的開場曲“Dream As Memory”起已賦予這種感覺。整體而言,4首歌的節奏顯得錯落有致,統一和諧,可見Scott Hansen在編曲上的傳統化和組織化的趨向。而他亦籍此又一次證明了他在電子樂上的天分和才華。有人曾說過,電子樂終於在Sacramento興起,而處於這場變革最前線的正是Tycho。我覺得這樣的評價並不爲過,並且期待他們能夠愈行愈遠。

来自英国伦敦的民谣团体呢《Melody Maker》是这么描述的:“A narcoleptic whisper, a heartbroken lullaby, a last, sad dance with Red House Painters on the jukebox.Unexpected treasure。一种如梦般的耳语;些许感怀的摇篮曲,与Red House Painters(红屋画家:著名伤感民谣乐团)共舞的最后伤悲。意想不到的珍品。”

常会听到这样的形容;某某团体像谁,谁是谁的接班人等等之类的。这样的叙述最令我头疼了,说了一堆名字,若是没听过还是枉然,用耳朵去聆听才是最实际的。言归正传,还是来说说 Arco 吧。

简单的编制、编曲、主唱平静中带着哀愁的声音和词曲,是 Arco 最吸引人的地方。或许也因为音乐表达的情境符合此时此刻的心情。光是聆听乐器所奏出的每个音符,就足以令人融化在忧郁的氛围中。

如果你有用音乐疗伤的习惯,在此强烈警告你:心情低落的时刻千万别聆听

For those of you who don't know let me start by telling you that Arco are a band from London who produce music so gentle and fragile it makes Nick Drake sound like a death metal growler in comparison!
Four years after the imperious 'Coming To Terms' the band are back, and I'm pleased to say they pick up from where they left off. From the opening strums of 'Diary', the tone is set for the rest of the album. The beautiful lullabye-esque vocals of Chris Healey are as mesmerising as ever, and the slow, minimalist backing of David Milligan on bass makes for the ideal gentile soundscape. 'Perfect World' is one of the most tender and heart-wrenching songs I have heard this year, and the introduction mid-track of a brass section (well, one instrument with a muffler I reckon) is genius. Throughout, the tempo remians constant; it never once attempts to shake you out of the hazey aura of relaxation that the whole album exudes. Closing with my new song for January 1st, 'Happy New Year', the band potentially achieve what Art Brut lyrically phrase they aim to in writing a song "that could make Israel and Palestine get along", with a perfect vocal and musical concoction for reflection.

Coming on like Tom McRae unplugged and mellowed out, Arco are one of the finest 'easy listening' bands of our generation. They're for those times when you get back from work after being stuck in traffic, or when you've stubbed your toe trying to find your shoes in the morning. They are the musical equivalent of Radox bath salts, and I would quite happily wind the evening down with this album every day of the week.

Like some listeners of Dinah's earlier blues stuff, I wasn't immediately turned on by this "Ray Coniff-type" of arrangement. But after repeated listenings, I discovered the multi-textured interpretations by Dinah. All the songs here have been covered by others singers before or since, but I keep going back to Dinah's interpretations on this CD. There's just something about her voice, the way she expresses joy, sadness, pain, hope, misery, that makes it all too real for the listener. Anyone who has been thru the rigors of love and a broken relationship can certainly identify with Dinah on this disc. After a while, you almost ignore the arrangements and start enjoying the music because Dinah makes a difference.

Biography
At just 20 years old, Conor Oberst certainly hasn't wasted any time. When he was 13, he put out his first solo cassette--an acoustic-based four-track tape with just his voice and his guitar.

At 14, Oberst formed a band called Commander Venus. Their first CD, Do You Feel At Home? grabbed the attention of New York-based Grass Records (then home of Brainiac, The Wrens, New Radiant Storm King). Grass Records eventually became Wind Up records and put out Commander Venus' second full-length, The Uneventful Vacation (1997). Tim Kasher (Cursive), Matt Bowen (formerly of The Faint) and Robb Nansel (Saddle Creek) rounded out the rest of the band.

Along with writing songs for Commander Venus, Oberst continued to record songs on his father's old reel-to-reel four-track. He laid down dozens of songs between the years 1995 and 1997, but none were intended for release. It wasn't long after the release of the second Commander Venus record that Oberst began focusing more of his efforts on what originally got him interested in music, acoustic-based songwriting, and less on the loud, distorted guitar styling of Commander Venus. After Commander Venus disbanded in 1997, Oberst and some friends started a new project--Park Ave.--with the intention of writing pop music.

Oberst decided to learn to play drums, and Clark Baechle, the drummer from The Faint, joined up to learn how to play guitar. They asked three girlfriends to help round out the lineup on vocals, bass and keyboards. None of them knew how to play their instruments either. Park Ave. released a split 7" with The Wrens, had two songs on a Saddle Creek sampler CD, and put out a full-length of four-track recordings as well. When one of its members moved to London, Park Ave. broke up.

                                                                                       

Saddle Creek had been listening to the home four-track recordings that Oberst had been making over the past few years and decided that they wanted to release them. Oberst and friends sifted through the reels of tape and came up with 20 songs, which became the first Bright Eyes release--A Collection of Songs Written and Recorded 1995-1997--in 1998. Frustrated by trying to get consistent band members, Oberst decided that Bright Eyes would be the moniker for his music and whomever else he could get to play with him at the time. When it was time to record the studio full-length Letting Off The Happiness, Oberst got his friends and acquaintances together, went to Athens, and played with a bunch of people. He then released the Every Day and Every Night EP, followed by the full-length Fevers and Mirrors in 2000. In January 2001, Oberst dropped Oh Holy Fools--The Music of Son, Ambulance and Bright Eyes. A new album is expected in 2002.

I am among the many people who read, specially preceding this album's release, much about Oberst's talent, before ing to what he has to offer here.
In general, passionate praise for a new musician -particularly when compared to legends like Dylan- has a negative effect on me. I'm more likely to grow skeptical and doubt their value than embracing them, blinded by positive reviews.
"I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning" is an absolute exception to my usual incredulity. I must say I was deeply gratified to see that it lived up to the hype.
I would still not compare him to Dylan -to me, one of the greatest American songwriters who ever lived- yet there are other talented people who do come to mind, with whom reasonable comparisons can be made.
Most recently, in terms of remarkable new voices, Ryan Adams comes to mind. Like Adams, Oberst already shows a depth of feeling beyond his years, and a breadth of musical interests that are beyond average. It does not hurt either, although it would not establish a parallel, that Emmylou Harris offered his voice to both artists' recordings, I think too highly of Ms. Harris to assume that she'd agree to sing here for any other reason than admiration for this young man's songs.
This album is incredibly mature, both musically and lyrically. It is clearly the work of someone who feels deeply the high and low moments of being alive -then again, most people do- what I'm impressed about is that it does not deteriorate into an emotional private diary, which although meaningful to the person writing it, usually holds very little value to the rest of us.
Songs like "We Are Nowhere And It's Now" and "Old Soul Song (For The New World Order)" -both with Emmylou Harris in vocals- are stunning examples of this guy's talent. Moving, emotionally daring, and wise enough to mean something personal to the er.
"Train Under Water," "Landlocked Blues" and "Road To Joy" are also great tunes, showing that this guy has assimilated his influences fully, and already sound like himself, rather than offering merely reminders of other, more established people. And then there is "Lua" ... what an extraordinary song! This is one of the most vulnerable, yet wise songs about a break up that I heard in a long time. Oberst manages to show the pain, risk remaining innocent, and yet craft a piece that should mean something to everyone who's ever been in love. This song alone, and I know it may sound rather an abused line, it's enough to justify getting this album.
I had already liked earlier albums by Bright Eyes and sensed that there was a talented musician behind it, yet this CD has more than confirmed it.
It is exquisite and imperfect, the way life is, and when someone is as courageous and talented as Oberst is -to talk about it- it is nothing less than a gift. "Wide Awake, It's Morning" is one of those gifts.

My dad introduced me to the Czars a year or so ago, and they just blew me away. The combination of alt. country with John Grant's beautiful, unreal voice is incredible, a miracle of modern music. Unfortunately, not every track on this album is quite what it should be.

Some of them, like "Val," "Get Used to It," "What I Can Do For You" and "Leavin' on Your Mind," are wonderful, showcasing Mr. Grant's voice to its fullest, most ethereally down-to-earth advantage. But others - "Gangrene" is a pretty good example - are trying to be some kind of screaming rock music, and that is not the best genre for the Czars. Mr. Grant's voice was made to croon or whisper or sing sweetly into your ear, but not to shout.

That's not to say that this isn't a good album, and a nice introduction to the Czar's work. The album as a whole is a good example of alt. country (for lack of a better genre title for this multi-talented band) at its best. I reccomend it heartily.


Biography
成立于1994年的The Czars来自美国的丹佛。当时,主唱John Grant和贝斯手Chris Pearson偶然在位于丹佛一个较远市中心的红灯区俱乐部相识,而鼓手Jeff Linsenmaier则是第二年在一个叫Mayan老剧院的后巷认识了John和Chris。吉他手Andy Monley和Roger Green分别在1997年和1999年加入了乐队。The Czars录制了两张专辑"Moodswing"和"The La Brea Tar Pits of Routine",并在他们自己的厂牌Veleteen Records下发行,然后便分别给英国厂牌Cocteau Twins' Bella和美国厂牌Manifesto Records写信。"Before...but longer"是2000年五月在英国厂牌旗下发行的第一张专辑,接着在来年的十月"The Ugly People vs. The Beautiful People"第二章专辑也发行了。下一张专辑预计在今年的九月份发行。饭们就翘首期待吧。

Biography
Ulrich Schnauss was born in northern Germany fishing port Kiel in 1977, during his formative years he grew a love for a broad spectrum of music ranging from my bloody valentine to tangerine dream, chapterhouse to early bleep & breakbeat tracks. There was not much opportunity to see some of his musical heroes in Kiel, so the inevitable pull of the big city meant a move to Berlin in 1996.

By which time Ulrich’s musical output had already become prolific with a variety of pseudonyms (most notably View to the Future and Ethereal 77) veering from ambient to drum and bass via electronica. These earlier works were soon, catching the eye of Berlin electronica label CCO who took up the story.

“It came a bit of a regular thing, those anonymous packages sent to us from Berlin with a single CDR, a biro scrawl revealing at closer inspection the simple stamp \'Ethereal 77\'. Ulrich had been making music for years, producing, touring, piecing together that BIG sound. And yet each of these CDR instalments revealed something a little more personal.”

Soon these submissions to CCO developed into Ulrich’s first album under his own name entitled ‘Far away Trains Passing By’ which as it slowly seeped into people’s consciousness became an electronic classic. Listeners were taken with the lush instrumentation and the emotion of the elegant, simple and beautiful music.

Yet nothing was to prepare his growing army of supporters for this next record ‘A Strangely Isolated Place’ which slowly came together during 2001 into a record that really showed some of Ulrich’s youthful indie influences. His debut album under his real name established his pedigree as an outstanding electronic composer, but somehow he managed to take it further by developing his interest in songwriting for electronic music, born of his love for such giants of the independent world as My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields and Cocteau Twins’ Robin Guthrie. From this humble conception, comes forth a record of surprisingly rare emotional power.

‘A Strangely Isolated Place’ has become one of those extraordinary and rare occurrences; a genuinely word-of-mouth record slowly growing in stature by virtue of its over-riding ability to deliver more than the usual arid and academic treatises on the state of the synthesizer, or solipsistic bedsit meanderings.

“When you’ve worked with computers and keyboards for a number of years, they become not so fascinating of themselves anymore. I gained in confidence after people began to discover ‘Faraway Trains…’ and it hasn’t really stopped since then. This time I decided not to compromise on what I wanted to do, with what I thought people might want me to do.”

The results are an oddly retro-futurist record, which owes more to MBV’s ‘Loveless’ or Vangelis’s ‘Bladerunner’ soundtrack than Ulrich’s computer peers. It sounds all the better for it.

Since the release of both albums Ulrich has been asked to work with and remix a host of artists including: Mojave 3, Longview, Johannes Schmoelling, The Zephyrs, Lunz (Rodelius) etc.

I'm a die hard, so I guess I'm sort of biased. I watched this DVD with a friend, and we both literally just sat there, jaws dropped, glued to the screen, from start to finish. (well, we are teenage girls, so don't go by us)
Peter Murphy is truly an enigmatic and phenomenal performer, as is Daniel Ash. True, the director was kind of annoying, especially when he kept panning to the audience at really odd times (yeah, okay, people who like Bauhaus wear eyeliner, WE GOT IT! You don't have to remind us every 5 seconds or so!!). The little in between bits are highly entertaining, and I don't think there's anything more fabulous than the performance of "Boys". All of the performances are excellent. Although, since it was a DVD, a little behind the scenes featurette would have been nice. And, personally, I think the sound is fine. I mean, it wasn't AMAZING, but it didn't stink..., either.

Oh yeah, and one more thing, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Peter Murphy hasn't become fat, bald or prematurely geraitric over the years. He still weighs, like, 4 ounces, has a really cool haircut, and dances in a way that makes the most affected monacle-and-top hat-wearing goths cry. (Just look at the audience, it's not like they ever SHOW them!!)

So, anyways, bottom line, if you're a die hard, you need it. If you're a newbie, this will get you hooked. If you're on the fence, this will tip you over. If you're--wait, what was I talking about again? Oh yeah, just buy the freaking thing. ...

n年前还是高中时候,我跟伍德斯多克人说:有没有打击乐?

立刻给我拿来一张dead can dance,当时拿回家贼听不惯于是拿去换去了。。。。

其时候后来还是听不惯,也许太N了不适合我呵呵

这个团虽说是dcd的元老闹得,不过风格感觉完全不同,基本是民谣

带些哥特式是铺垫,一些异国乡间情调的旋律。

I never understood how people could distinguish between Brendan and Lisa in Dead Can Dance, they were both so amazing and together they made amazing music (especially 'the host of seraphim' and 'the carnival is over') I haven't listened to Lisa's solo work as much, though I am shocked to hear that some believe her to be the creative force behind DCD, they both compliment one another.
Anyway, this record is in the great tradition of such DCD songs like "american dreaming" "don't fade away" and "i can see now". My favorite is the cover "I must have been blind" which will make you fall apart. "voyage of Bram" "saturday's child" and "archangel" are major standouts as well. the whole record has a really somber, moody and warm melancholy/resigned sadness feel. After all these years of living and experience, this record seems to communicate the vision of life after many disappointments and joys. How do you describe being "cut loose before one's time"? How do you communicate those feelings of being helpless, but still having dignity? I think this record does that as well as can be done.

I'm sure Lisa Gerrard's solo projects are worth checking out, but I think Brendan's solo record is phenomenal.

    一男一女两位一体的Dead Can Dance组合的男性成员Brendan Perry刚刚在4AD旗下推出一张个人专辑。Dead Can Dance向来是有合有分,而两位成员均有个人专辑问世。

   

    在很多人眼里,Dead Can Dance是4AD之音最富吸引力的组成部分,她不仅深得爱好另类音乐的朋友们的喜爱,同时也在很大程度上改变了那些原本并不喜欢另类音乐的人对另类音乐的不良看法。卓尔不群的格调、新古典主义唯美趣味、浓郁的宗教和神秘主义氛围、如梦似幻的“仙气”,Dead Can Dance的确非同凡响。

  Dead Can Dance的所有歌曲除了小部分两人合唱和一部分纯音乐作品之外,大部分都是由女主音Lisa Gerard和男主音Brendan Perry分别唱出的。说来有趣,两人的演唱感觉颇不相同,Lisa Gerard嗓音高亢,乐风虚幻缥缈很神秘,“仙气”很重;而Brendan Perry嗓音低回沉郁,醇厚中透出浓郁的苍凉感。两人的演唱风格在Dead Can Dance的音乐中一直平行不悖地并存着,但“貌离神合”,从未给Dead Can Dance的音乐带来明显的分裂感。

                  
 
       我不似相当一部分人那般特别偏爱Lisa Gerard的演唱,反到特别喜爱由Brendan Perry主唱的“The Ubiquitous Mr Lovegrove”和“The Carnival Is Over”。所以头一回碰着Brendan Perry推出个人专辑,自然不会错过了这张唱片。   


  木吉他向来在Brendan Perry演唱的歌曲中扮演重要的角色,这张个人专辑也不例外,弦乐和键盘相对木吉他而言永远只是一种衬托,的确,唯有木吉他清脆而又空灵的弦音才能与Brendan孤寂的嗓音相伴。  

  Brendan Perry的演唱绝对是需要静下心来才可欣赏的,当然,再虚浮焦躁的人听了Brendan Perry的演唱也会很快静下心来洗耳恭听的,并且被他的强烈磁性所深深吸引。   


  开首的“Saturday's Child”是特别有亲和力的一首曲子,那境界是绝对纯净到纤尘不染的,但也绝对没有拒人千里的感觉。孩童,海洋,暗夜,乐境宽阔到可以容纳一切,当然也可以化解一切。   

  “Voyage Of Bran”是个缓缓道来的童话,却潜藏着劝谕的哲理。“Medusa”是西洋神话中的蛇发女妖,这类神话题材的歌曲是比较罕见的,“我心如铁”的那份孤寂更具杀伤力。“Sloth”的那份慵懒其实是种无奈,“I Must Have Been Blind”中的那份祈求,似乎也有无奈。   

  “Death Will Be My Bride”这类有着浓郁的神秘主义和死亡意味的曲子原本也是Dead Can Dance所擅长的,但Brendan Perry的那份悲凉和阴森让人觉得心怕,不忍卒听。“Archangel”这类主题也常出现在Dead Can Dance的歌中,只是Brendan Perry很少有机会唱这类适合Lisa Gerard演绎的题材。当然,Breadan演绎的“Archangel”也是无可挑剔,唱了真嗓又唱了假嗓,落足了心力。   

  Brendan Perry的这张个人专辑和Lisa Gerard的个人专辑一样,都是Dead Can Dance音乐的延续,但相比较而言,Brendan Perry个人变化稍大一些。

Bleeding Like Mine:一支来自美国的darkwave组合。乐队固定成员主要为Curt Emmer,Holly Emmer, Hugues Dammarie.。非固定成员有Michael Rush、Gil Petrovic、Erik Gosnell、IanWickramasekera。

乐队首次发行demo作品是1993年。94年Projekt公司发行了Of These Reminders的致敬双CD,里面收录的全是当时新晋的darkwave/darkambient乐队/乐手重新演绎Black Tape for a Blue Girl作品,包括后来为大家所熟知的LSD,Stoa。专辑内BLM翻唱的作品是Into the garden以及和Sam Rosenthal合作的Seireenien lumoama其后BLM离开Projekt转投意大利Palace of Worms旗下。在POW,BLM的才华得到了充份的发挥与肯定。 其后在POW的集锦CD Palace of Worms中,BLM发表了他们在POW的第一首作品And as The Ashes Settle。 1997年,他们首张大碟In the Eyes of Lovelost正式公开发行。同年应Thomas Wacker所在的Black Maginze之邀,加入了其策划的Arborlon Music限量发行的一张Industrial & Gothic 合辑2CD ‘The Dark Ages’,神话,魔鬼,宗教法庭,仪式,上帝,幽灵,恐惧,巫术,等等在该专辑内被音乐的形式冰冷地阐述和延续。BLM在此的作品为该专辑的第一首Israfel(天使) 。

漫长等待带来这异常孤寂的新古典室内乐,哀伤已经渗入骨髓。我常常将它与BLACK TAPE的新专辑The Scavenger Bride一起聆听,二者气质十分近似。管弦乐迟缓悠长的旋律衬着悲痛的独唱,特邀主唱Hugues Dammarie(O Quam Tristis...) 低沉嗓音的加入令这张新作比前作更加细腻感人,使得我更愿意将它们称之为倾诉。许多未命名歌曲的出现明显沿袭古典作品中无标题乐章的惯例,其感染力与正统古典作品相比也确实毫不逊色。不一一描述专辑中的作品了,你所需要的只是在寒冬的夜晚独自聆听,一遍一遍....

生命与爱在这里凝结成冰晶,在月光映照下折射出脆弱的光华。

Biography

Danish neo-folk band around Kim Larsen, who used to be in the metal band Saturnus. The first album "Nighttime Nightrhymes", with the hit 'Raven Chant' was directly a succes. The follow-up album, as well as several vinyl singles on Hau Ruck! and Eis & Licht, further enhanced the popularity of the band. OTWATM makes a classic type of neo-folk, reminding of old Death in June, combined with electronic ambient elements, and inspired by Nordic mythology, runic magic and northern atmospheres. The band is also very convincing and atmospheric on stage.

Kim Larsen is furthermore active in the dark ambient project Unveiled and the gothic rock band The Loveless.

大自然、符咒、深蕴的灵性,还有酒——这就是Of The Wand And The Moon那深沉内敛的、引人回归自我的原声民谣的灵感之源。聆听Kim的作品时会很容易发现北欧的根基,时而冥想,但永远忧郁的旋律。
of the wand and the moon的歌词大部分都相当短小简练,几张专辑中重复出现的一些文字符号传达出一种神秘深远的意象。比如: holy wand、consecration、Raven 、Chant等等。在北欧神话中,上古的鲁纳(Runen)文字本身是一种具有魔法的咒文,Kim在音乐的创作上则汲取了一些北欧神话以及古老的鲁纳诗文作为题材,音乐本身所表现出来的精神虽然黑暗忧悒(尤如孤独的人在黑暗与空虚之中缄默、忏悔、痛苦、渴求以及自我的激发),不过我感觉音乐的节奏始终是明亮的。我想这与北日尔曼民族本性中根源的一种战斗精神分不开吧。艰苦奇寒的自然环境,不断流亡迁徙的生活,造就了北欧人天性与自然与宿命相抗争的战斗精神,同时,恶劣的生存与环境也不可避免的让他们对于未来对于生命总是抱有一种末日般的悲观与毁灭感……所以虽然听见沉痛听见悲观,却仍然可以从音乐中找到抗争与前行的勇气。

有关新民谣,引用黑放一位朋友话:“在某天的夜晚突然觉得自己深深迷上Neo-Folk——一种温柔的毒药。比起硬式的Dark-Metal,更喜欢这种黑夜里的吟唱,发自内心的孤独声音。总让人联想起森林、黑夜、孤独的背影、细腻柔和的吉他和寂寞的旋律。像含羞草在黑夜里淡淡的的开放,带着点自恋,不善表达。散发出微微的清香,吸引着听着,温柔的触摸着听者的悲伤。”

The output of Peter Pettersson (also of the nom de plumes Arcana and Victoria) in 2002 has been somewhat amazing. The man has done a new single for Arcana and now two releases from his martial project known as Sophia. This newest full-length from the heir to In Slaughter Native's throne threw me when I first heard it. That quickly changed, however, once I understood the concept: we deserve nothing more than the worst we receive.
The previous work "Herbstwerk" was a coldly precise and bombastic offering, whereas "Spite" is much more mean-spirited, hence the name. "Spite" is comprised of the sort of venom which you just don't get much in this day and age of pretty pop songs crammed full of clever hooks and melodic verse/chorus hell. "Spite" sets the tone as a dark and vindictive one right out of the gate with the eerily constructed and aptly named "Filth". This entire song has a long vocal sample which plays out in the background of a man discussing finding the dead body of a woman floating near the shore of a river.
Pettersson has a low opinion of humankind to be sure. Following is the even more directly hate-filled "Dirt", in which he intones that he "does not like" much of what he sees and despises the person or people who this track is directed at. As for continuity, therein is the rub: there are very few calm moments on this album. Just when it would appear that the malcontents are about to get a breather, more percussive destruction comes from out of nowhere. Track follows doom-laden and remorseless track, there is no escape, there is no peace.
"Spite" is closed out by the live song "Stained". This song would serve quite well for dismembering someone in the privacy of one's basement, hooks in the walls and all. Cruelty never sounded so painfully alive. Another nice feature of this album is the toned down use of choral arrangements which made "Herbstwerk" so incredible but would have muddled this album's clear cut aggression.
The bar has been raised for those who work in the far-reaching nebula that is "ambient" music. Pettersson is quickly becoming something of a legend in Cold Meat circles and beyond them. For those who long for the music to describe and compliment the ugly side of man, this is it. Make no mistake about it, Sophia is a mean machine indeed.

Mademoiselle ... has always seen herself in the grand tradition of French cabaret stretching back to the Belle Époque, while staking out new territory for herself. This outing is a more deliberate and concentrated effort in that tradition, as well as a return to her roots in clubs and late-night boîtes, and an essay in a much mellower sound that comes off as surprisingly fresh! She has come into her own enough as an artist to be able to record these universally recognized songs with confidence while acknowledging her indebtedness.

_Piano Bar_ is inspired by music in Patricia Kaas's much-publicized film debut _And Now ... Ladies and Gentlemen_, where she shares billing with Jeremy Irons, but while not an official soundtrack (as far as I can tell) it does show a couple of stills from the film. The songs are all by French writers, sung in English for the most part (but a couple are in French or both languages), and for some of them the original lyrics are in English. The original language of the song has no connection with the language chosen for the album: "My man" and "I wish you love" and "What now my love" sung in well-known English translations, while "La mer" with an equally popular English version is sung in French, and "The Windmills of your mind" here presented as "Les Moulins de mon cœur," etc. The only rarity is the sultry and alluring "Syracuse," along with the song composed for the film. _Piano Bar_ is decidedly low-key, but a much more daring album than might appear at first. For her first English effort she is not going with the strong sound that's made her an icon, she's going with an idiom where the concentration is going to be on the words and where her deficiencies in English are going to be more exposed, and she's presenting material that is known even to Americans otherwise unfamiliar with French music. ... I think this album is a solid success, and in fact I had a more immediate positive reaction than I've had to any album other than _Dans ma chair_. In a way it's going back to her roots: the milieu she conjures up in many of her songs-"Je te dis vous," "L'heure du jazz,"-and here in the theme song "And now ... ladies and gentlemen."

The tone is most reminiscent of the mellower side of "Scène de vie" -- "Cœuers brisés" and "L'heure du jazz." The arrangements are subtle yet advanced, with flavors of acid jazz ("I wish you love") and hints of hip-hop (remix of "If You Go Away," including sampling sounds). She takes advantage of production enhancements but not obtrusively or to the detriment of the music (even layering her voice in a couple of places, which I haven't heard her do elsewhere). She handles expertly the harmonic modulations on which many of these songs' impact rests. Her English is better than in the past, although in many cases you can hear her shaping a phrase the way it would be with the original French lyrics ("If you go away," "Yesterday when I was young"). In some cases I question the selections: Do "The Summer knows" and particularly "Where do I begin" really have anything to do with the piano bar tradition she says she wants to rehabilitate in the liner note? The French lyrics of "The Windmills of your mind" are fine as a curiosity (Jessye Norman also sings them on her Legrand album _I Was Born in Love with You_) but really not as good as the original English. ... "My man" is once again sanitized of the lines about "sometimes he beats me." In fact, only the refrain is used, and the verse elliptically hummed at the beginning except for the line "but I love him"-sort of neat, in a way, eliminating all the verses not just the disturbing one: "yadda, yadda, yadda, but I love him." ... Mlle Kaas deserves much better production values!

Highlights are the haunting "If you go away." "Un homme et une femme" will be instantly recognizable as an instrumental movie theme, and I was previously unaware of a vocal life beyond that. "The summer knows" is sensuous and jazzy. The classic "I wish you love" (by Charles Trenet) is decked out in funky modern attire, an improvement on her version on the album Black Coffee (an English-language sortie that was pulled from released). "Autumn Leaves" sounds like Jobim here, very attractive. And "La mer" (again by Trenet) is the epitome of mellow, cool, finger-snapping jazz-not in the exuberant swinging style of Bobby Darin's cover ("Beyond the Sea") but perhaps with an appreciative wink toward it. Several of the songs include a line or a verse delivered (sometimes parlando) in French, which with her natural delivery does not come as an affectation.

The one strike against this album is the inclusion of the Theme from Love Story ("Where do I begin"). It may be of fleeting interest to learn of the French connection, but the song is terminally dreary and though tacked onto a rhythmic bass the rendition adds nothing to the song's appeal or reputation. It's probably crotchety of me to subtract a star from my rating for this, but since in tone it's so close to the rest of the album it doesn't even offend enough to be rejected outright, instead it goes down easy and winds up leaving a sour aftertaste.

If you're looking for My man like Streisand, Love Story like Bassy, La mer like Darrin ... yes, you may be disappointed. I didn't miss those particularly, still to me the definitive "Windmills" is Dusty Springfield's inimitable psychedelic version.

Even if you don't love Piano Bar at first listen as I did, it's an album that will grow on you with the right mood and circumstances.
